We are not used to having a dog that barks. Kodo will occasionally let out a boof, but it is not consistent and is rarely triggered by the things that normal dogs bark at. For example, when the doorbell rings Kodo will run full speed to the front door (shaking the house as he goes) and STARE out the window at whoever rang the bell. We don't get a lot of door-to-door salespeople anymore, can't imagine why.
So when Rylee came home with us, it was a bit of a surprise. First of all, she has a BIG DOG bark. She sounds just as big as Kodo- which is funny considering she is about half his size! :) The thing I love about it is that she barks to alert you, and then she stops. None of this continuous hysterical barking I have seen other dogs exhibit: "There is someone walking by outside the house! Stop them!", "There is a leaf blowing outside the window! This is unacceptable!", etc. Doorbell rings, she barks once or twice, I tell her "OK, I've got this.", and she settles down. She is such a smart girl!!
