First dog park of the year
We got up to the dog park for about an hour today. It was still pretty muddy and a bit cold, but there were 3 or 4 other pups up there and Kodo had a ton of fun romping. He found a large branch on the ground- about 3 or 4 feet long and 2 inches around, and starting trotting around the park dragging it in his mouth. He was so happy and proud of himself with his tail waving.. I wish I had had a camera! Once he teased the other dogs with it, it became the most desired toy in the park and they were chasing him around for it. And as soon as he dropped it, one of the other picked it up and tried to drag it around too. Didn't have much luck with that though, since the other dog was quite a bit smaller.. :)

Spring day!!
It was a beautiful day today, so I took Kodo to our park around 10 am to walk. Just as we were getting out of the car, we ran into a gentleman walking three (3!!!!) Berners! It was great seeing them and chatting with him, but I was kinda embarrassed since Kodo was being a devil-dog- inspired by the beautiful spring weather no doubt.. And the other three dogs were VERY well behaved. Two girls and one boy, the boy was around Kodo's age, the one girl was a little younger, and the second girl was 5 yrs old and a therapy dog. Did notice that Kodo was a LOT bigger than all of them though- so he definitely is freakishly tall.. :)
After we left them, he was being bad-puppy again. He would charge ahead and try to pull me off my feet. Then when I braced and stopped him, he would charge around me and try to gallop off again. He spent the first 20+ minutes of the walk doing this- I was exhausted and my hands and arms were hurting 5 minutes in. We walked (charged?) for about 45 minutes total, by then he was acting tired and panting like crazy, though he was still pulling a bit :/ I took him into the nature center for a drink and some socializing, and he got admired and petted by a bunch of strangers.
Then when we came home, he flopped on the floor and made like a bear rug for most of the afternoon..

15-month birthday portraits
So I got some great pictures of Kodo with a regal, far-away look on his face. He looks very handsome and dignified, but it loses a bit of that when you find out he only gets that look on his face when we are making him wait for his yummy Kong and he is trying really hard not to drool all over his front..
